So the day starts early as I was sleeping over at INTI College, with fellow barcampers, less than 10-15 people. Some I could recalled are Swee meng, Sharief, Eric, Daniel, Kagesenshi, Ah Hong, and others. Wake up at 8, only to discover the turnover of audience was pretty low, well perhaps because last night ( saturday ) was a rainstorm and people going home and collapse lol. Nonetheless, the nice nasik lemak that morning doesn’t doze me off during the whole morning.
But please enjoy first this video that was created on the night of Day 1 by Backpackr.
So I start the day pretty late coming into silverlight sessions by Kok Chian and another Silverlight developer. I can see the increase of Silverlight portfolios and they also introduce a new format called XBAP with the example can be seen on photosynth.net.
Earth Hour will be initiated in less than 24 hour. Starting 830pm, you have to turn off your electric appliances for one hour, till 930.
Now you may be skeptical. For one hour, did it really work?
Let me start with my photomemory. I remember watching Discovery Channel. There this documentary covering the stories of how deadly a final match of World Cup Germany 2006 could be. by Power Overload. Power Overload is something that the demand for power is more than what they can supply. Of course, the same ‘overload’ term could be use if you have excessive power, but this is not the case. The stories is about worker/technician/chargeman at the Electric Dam have to control the right moment to supply the right power. They called this as TV-Pickup. The moment the world cup ends, the people will go to their kettle, and heat it up. And did you know that electric kettle use a hell lot of power?
Now you know.
So when they go heat up their electric kettle, the demand for power will increase. Not just one, but million households will do that. So the electric worker at the dam, at the right moment just after seconds when world cup ends, opening up more valve of the dam to let the water flow to generate more power. here’s the thing. If he opened it to early, he will supply massive power. if he late to open it, they will experience power outage.
So a split second for them is valuable. //end of my photomemory recall
//lol i just googled up and found the related stuff about the thing above – here.
And now, we don’t have to control that big responsibility. We just need to flick off the switch really. Real easy. Just for one hour.
Last wednesday I sent my father’s car to IIUM, then Sabau picked me and went to Shah Alam, meeting a client. Then, since I’ve no transport so we’ve decided to mobilized at KL Sentral foodcourt. Working for almost 3 hours before I ran out of battery and have to find plug points. It was around 5PM at that moment and I decide just to stay until sunset prayer ( Solat Maghrib ) because I don’t want to be trapped inside transit.
Then, around 8PM, bought a battery replacement for Anne. Her battery inflates most probably because I overcharge it, and it’s an original battery. Nonetheless, that battery already served well since early 2007 from her previous owner, which is a girl, and it’s a realistic lifespan of a battery. Wanted to buy original battery but I decide to give a test for this 3rd party battery, see if it can last longer than original battery.
U can clearly see the battery on your left already inflates. If I continute using it, it may explode. oh well.
Then, back riding KL Monorail to Hang Tuah, and change to LRT Ampang. Saw one guy playing rubik cube with full concentration. arrive around 9PM++ and decide to wait for bus to bukit indah.
10 minutes… relax
20 minutes… oh well wait for 5 minutes more
30 minutes.. WTH
decide to take a taxi. What surprise me is the taxi driver is a full-time architect, and finding some extra money at night by driving taxi. i’m puzzled. economic must be soo bad perhaps. then he told me that the bus at my area is totally late, and i was the N-person to complaint about the late service in that area.
oh well, that’s the story last week.

If last year I’m having sushi king on Sunday Morning, this year I’m having it yesterday, Saturday Morning. Been busy lately so I’ve decided to just stroll aimlessly.
Real aimlessly.
First I’ve went to KLCC and just aimlessly check with Skybridge if there’s still a ticket available. There is, scheduled for 4PM trip. After receiving the ticket, I’ve went to Sushi King… and ate bit too much (bit = sarcastic )
California Maki, salmon-what, and dumplings-what. HOHO tastyy.
