Break-Fasting with ASDAF kids

P05-09-09_21.47 2scale600

Last saturday, 5 September 2009, I went to break-fasting at ASDAF ( Asrama Darul Falah ). It was an event called Fast2Feed organized by Muslim Aid Asia. It’s an event to sponsor orphan kids to break-fast a.k.a buka puasa and give the kids duit raya. Gotta choose either to sponsor or to sponsor and break-fasting with the kids. I choose to break-fast with them, since last year I missed it. Got to mingle with some orphan kids and this young lad is Amar Suhail. He’s 9 years old, same age as my lil sis Anom Nazirah. He’s been staying there for 9 years. Yup.. since his early years. He’s pretty sharp kid and got 2nd places at his school at Brickfields. And stays sharp. He want to grow up becoming Astronauts. Oops.. Angkasawan. Spend morreh ( supper time after terawih ) time with him until 10 and going home.

For muslims who have to pay ‘fidyah’, Muslim Aid Asia can take if from you. they charging RM1.70 for each ‘cupak’ so count how many days that you need to pay and contact them to let them know you’re paying for ‘fidyah’. Call their office 03-22881996 (Azmira atau Muhammad)

Any skipped fasting need to replace with fasting.  but if you’re incapable to fast because of serious illness or you’re 90 year old folks, can pay Fidyah – a pay of one cup of rice to replace the day you’re not fasting, provided that you’re incapable to fast.

This is just my early steps to become what I think I would spend time living (if I’m still alive) when I’m 60′s = Philanthropist, helping needing hands.

P/S: My childhood ambition is Astronauts. But my ambition always evolving. From Astronauts – Chef – Scientist – Ahli Falak a.k.a Muslim Astro-watcher ( didn’t prefer to say astrologer ) – Counsellor (since my MRSM counsellor so cool ) Until after MRSM I lost-ambition LOL. Hmm not lost maybe, but there’s many things I can become :D

Thoughts on TEDxKL Talks

Do you know TED? Didn’t know? TED is ..

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader.

The slogan/motto for TED is “Ideas Worth Spreading”

And TEDx means it’s an independently organized TED event, and that KL is obviously Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Being the fan of TED, I RSVPed early because the seat was limited to 100 people without knowing who’re going to speak at first. But then there’s some name pops in. Yasmin Ahmad & KidChan among the first to pops in my twitterville but I was wondering is there any Tech talks until the day before, I was looking at their schedule and discover none for techgeeks like me.

Oh well, just give it a shot.

Lightning Talk: Everywhere is your Office – Mobile Office

First – Lightning Talk is a short presentation within 5-10 minutes. Unlike other presentations, lightning talks last only a few minutes and several will usually be delivered in a single period by different speakers. – Okay during BarCamp KL 4-5 April, I’m giving a session entitled “Everywhere is your office – Mobile Office” but the people who coming aren’t that many. The reason why is because other speakers was also delivering great titles like Bytebot and Daniel. Since some people, like Carolyn, Melvin, and others also missed my talk, I’m thinking to recap and shrink my presentation to Lightning Talk Style.

But then, as what Odin said, I’m too draggy. LOL. Whatever, please enjoy my lightning talk :)

Haha picking up a Japanese Girl, I’m so totally off LOL!

Barcamp KL Day 2

So the day starts early as I was sleeping over at INTI College, with fellow barcampers, less than 10-15 people. Some I could recalled are Swee meng, Sharief, Eric, Daniel, Kagesenshi, Ah Hong, and others. Wake up at 8, only to discover the turnover of audience was pretty low, well perhaps because last night ( saturday ) was a rainstorm and people going home and collapse lol. Nonetheless, the nice nasik lemak that morning doesn’t doze me off during the whole morning.

But please enjoy first this video that was created on the night of Day 1 by Backpackr.

okay let’s start
