Dynamic Team Singapore : Day4

Ahoy the 4th day of our trip to singapore. today we went to Darul Takrim, Jamiyah House for the Aged. This home provide shelter and care for the aged and the destitute of all race and religion.

our morning starts there with a brief from their director, Mr Hamid, explaining the function of the house and also took us a short tour around there to show the facilities. the house has 3 floors. it can accommodate up to 180 residents . apart from the room that they have, they also have Physiotherapy room, a clinic, library, segregation room, and a mess hall. the segregation room is when there were old people having problems with other residents, they will be put in to that room till their bad emotion residue.

Dynamic Team Singapore : Day3

on the third day of the trip, we were participating Darul Ma’wa (Jamiyah Children Home) Flag Day. at first, we’re pretty clueless about what is Flag Day until lissa explain to us during briefing on last monday. Flag day is a day of fundraising where the volunteers go out and ask for donation for Darul Ma’wa. We went to Causeway Point, Woodlands where we roam around there asking for donations.

We were there from 9AM till 12 PM and from 3PM till 5PM. so early in the morning, Lissa brief us what we should do, like the area where we can ask for donation and area we can’t enter.

Dynamic Team Singapore : Day2

on the second day of our trip to singapore, we went to Darul Islah, Jamiyah Halfway House. This is the house for ex-drug addicts. this is where they be placed after imprisonment and before they go back to the community.

Darul Islah located at Pasir Panjang, Singapore. the house can accommodate up to 70 people. but only men. the manager, Mr Sharif said they can’t house women drug addicts because they didn’t have expertise about handling women drug addicts.

Dynamic Team Singapore : Day1

Alhamdulillah, thank God i safely arrived at KL sentral on saturday morning, 070608. here let me tell you about our wonderful journey at singapore.

Dynamic Team Singapore. It was a team in Usrah Instutition of Multimedia University, Cyberjaya documenting Jamiyah Singapore contribution towards community in Singapore. It was a part of continuation relationship between Usrah Institution and Jamiyah Singapore. Last year we have Al-Quran for PSP being promoted at Jamiyah’s “One World Many Culture” exhibition at Singapore Expo. So in this trip, we’ve visited three of Jamiyah premises, namely Darul Ma’wa ( house for the kids ), Darul Islah, ( Halfway home ), and Darul Takrim ( Home for the aged ).

so let me start with day 1, the day we set off, the nights on train, and the day we arrive and visit the first house, Darul Ma’wa.
