so day 2 of foss begins with keynote talk by ditesh. quite unrevealing the scene of opensource . like who’s who behind the scene.
next, attended Git talk by Kamal Fariz. in easy, git is kinda Time Machine. it keeps the file that been changed separately. I never been use subversion whatnot, but having the point that with Git, every developer can work on different module starting from the same tree. from the same tree, they could grew their own blob. and then, they just need to rebased it. project management here is pretty important. Oh btw thanks for the t-shirt!
today i spend a happy day at FOSS.my. I’m not an opensourcer but i love free stuff and knowledge. Moreover, to know what the other human do for other human good is the good thing for other human to know. ( saja merumitkan bahasa :p )
The day starts with opening keynote that i hardly concentrate with but one thing i know is the naming convention of the newer microsoft office ( ie, docx ) the ‘x’ was exist because they start to using Office XML.
Next, went to Introduction to MyMeeting but hardly can’t get any grasp of it. My company also develop a CMS but rather, a custom made from scratch. Previously we built one for Institut Perguruan Islam Selangor using CodeIgniter as framework. Looking at the design interface, i can smell a bit lack of user experience but didn’t have the urge to complain so i just leave it. perhaps i’ll try to download it and run it first.
The cake is not a lie :p Happy 1st Birthday to the company, Flavert Media Lab Sdn Bhd that was incorporated on 07/11/07 such a nice number for a coincidence with 7/11. Before that, the company has existed since 2004 in freelance world.
We didn’t throw a party, but just a small meetup between CEO, CTO and our Graphic Designer that is me, sabau, and allia. Since we’re not partying, we end up doing a usability test drive for WeddingKami.com
