After waiting for the details to be released, really at the exact time, Apple MacBook Air is revealed.

And this is the most astonishing part.. the size and the weight

That is verily, extremely thin. to put more emphasis on the fact that this is the thinnest laptop, ” there’s a full-size notebook encased in the 0.16 to 0.76 inch of sleek, sturdy anodized aluminum.“

( no i’m not done yet about the preview )

Speaking of which, the speed of this new macbookair is only 1.6Ghz core 2 duo. Or optional 1.8ghz. a bit slower than the current macbook. It have 80GB hard disk drive or you can opt to change to Solid State Disk. In english, it’s like the same type of the storage inside the IPod or your thumbdrive ( as comparison ). Another feature is their trackpad. Now, the trackpad can perform gesture actions like IPhone and IPod Touch. You can ‘pinch & squeeze” to adjust the view of the Finder or Safari. You can also zoom and rotate the picture with only your hand.

The biggest drawback for me is the missing Optical Drive. They remove that to make use of the Macbook Air High Speed Wifi capabilities. It’s N. They didnt need to use optical drive because they can use another PC or Mac optical drive, and run it wirelessly. I think that would be a bit problem. there’s an optional external superdrive for additional 99USD. and you have to carry that along all the way, everywhere.

It also have less connectivity port than Macbook. firewire is missing. only one USB slot means you might have to carry another USB Hub. Ohoooo and where the RJ45 Ethernet port? Opss… my bad.. it has the strong wireless connectivity capabilities. my bad.

The price at 1799USD. + 99USD if you want the superdrive. as for me, it’s a big no. macbookpro still owns.But i don’t have money to own either one of macbook, air and pro. Again their copywriting promotion is really,really really and repeat this for countless time, really brilliant. “Thinnovation“, a verily stunning keyword for this new thin laptop with new innovation.
